The founder of the’ KALUPUR COMMERCIAL COOPERATIVE BANK‘ was Shri Baldevbhai.
The Reserve Bank of India granted the license to start the bank and on 5 December 1970 the Kalupur Commercial Co-operative Bank Limited started functioning in a small room in the Kalupur area.
In the year 1988, the Reserve Bank of India granted scheduled bank status to 11 co-operative banks out of 1400 co-operative banks in the country. There were three co-operative banks in the state of Gujarat which were given this status. Kalupur Commercial Co-Operative Bank was the only bank in Ahmedabad city to get this status.
Late Shri Baldevbhai Patel’s vision of helping the society in the fields of health, education etc gave birth to many organizations engaged in social services.
In 1983, Late Shri Baldevbhai established “Sanand Education Trust” and also started Girls School at Sanand in memory of his mother Late Smt. Jadiben. She was a pioneer and instrumental in the establishment of Girls’ School, Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Pharmacy College under the banner of “Kadi Sarvvidyalaya Kelvani Mandal” in Gandhinagar. Kelvani Mandal later started courses like MBA, MCA etc.
The bank got the status of multi-state scheduled bank from the year 1995. Now the bank is competing with nationalized banks, private sector banks in terms of technology and services at very affordable charges to the customers.
Shri Baldevbhai died in the year 1997 during a function organized at the time of merger of Standard Co-Operative Bank with Kalupur Bank.

    The Magnetic Ink Character Recognition Code (MICR) is a numeric code that uniquely identifies a Bank-Branch participating in the ECS Credit scheme. MICR code consists of 9 digits e.g 500447125

    • First 3 digits represent the city (500447125)
    • Next 3 digits represent the bank (500447125)
    • Last 3 digits represent the branch (500447125)

    The MICR Code assigned to a bank branch is written on the MICR band of cheque leaves issued by bank branches.
