Kaveri Gramin Bank, a regional rural bank established under the Regional Rural Banks Act 1976, was a scheduled bank jointly owned by the Government of India, State Bank of India and the Government. Karnataka is allowed to do all types of banking business. The bank was functioning in 10 districts of South Karnataka, with its head office in Mysore city, with nine regional offices at Mysore, Mandya, Bengaluru, Tumakuru, Hassan, Chamarajanagar, Madikeri, Chikmagalur and Ramanagara.

The bank came into existence on 1 November 2012 (sponsored by State Bank of Mysore) by the amalgamation of Kaveri Kalpataru Gramin Bank, Chikmagalur Kodagu Gramin Bank and Visvesvaraya Gramin Bank, sponsored by State Bank of Mysore, Corporation Bank and Vijaya Bank respectively.
The bank was established on 1 November 2012 as ‘Cauvery Gramin Bank’.
2014 – The bank has registered a growth rate of 36.52 percent during 13-14.
2014 – Bank launched Financial Inclusion Scheme.
2014 – Bank opened four branches in Mandya district.
2015 – Kaveri Gramin Bank has enrolled over 48,000 customers for PMSBY in Mysore.
2015 – Kaveri Gramin Bank has enrolled 1,01,104 customers in insurance schemes, highlighting the popularity of social security schemes in rural areas.
2015 – Kaveri Gramin Bank plans to expand internet and mobile banking services for its customers.
2019 Kaveri Gramin Bank merged with Pragati Krishna Gramin Bank to form Karnataka Gramin Bank.

    The Magnetic Ink Character Recognition Code (MICR) is a numeric code that uniquely identifies a Bank-Branch participating in the ECS Credit scheme. MICR code consists of 9 digits e.g 500447125

    • First 3 digits represent the city (500447125)
    • Next 3 digits represent the bank (500447125)
    • Last 3 digits represent the branch (500447125)

    The MICR Code assigned to a bank branch is written on the MICR band of cheque leaves issued by bank branches.
