The name was changed to “Thane Bharat Sahakari Bank Limited” as there were two other banks also functioning as “Bharat Sahakari Bank” and Bharat Sahakari Bank. Time. Thus, the change in name from “Bharat Co-Operative Bank Limited”. Thane originated as “Thane Bharat Sahakari Bank Limited”.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) license was obtained on 19 April 1979 and the bank was inaugurated on 29 April 1979, on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya, at the hands of a renowned economist of that era. Dr. V M Dandekar. The bank started functioning in the sprawling campus at ‘Shatarak’ with its administrative office and first branch. main branch.
