AKOLA DISTRICT CENTRAL CO-OPERATIVE BANK acquired its owned premises, which was inaugurated by the then MP Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Some social activists like Late Shri Shankarlalji Khandelwal, Late Shri Narayanrao Gangavate, Late Shri Vasudevrao Manbhekar, Late Shri Narayanrao Tondulkar, Late Shri Mangilalji Sharma, Late Shri Jawaharlal Ji Lunkad, Shri Madhukarrao Paskar, Late Shri Prabhakarrao Sontake, Late Shri Bhausaheb Godbole and local traders And others set up Akola Bank with the aim of helping and supporting the needs of the local people. Registered bank at Akola on 19.4.1963. Its first branch started functioning on the eve of Vijayadashami on 28/09/1963 in a rented building at Akola.  

Bank has contributed an amount of Rs. 16.00 lacs for establishment of Dr Hedgewar Blood Bank of Akola.

This bank gives simple facilities to its customers which should be given to a bank such as loan facility, draft, locker facility etc.

Initially the area of ​​operation of the bank was confined to Akola district only. The Bank was granted a license to carry on banking business by RBI on 05/02/1984. Till 1990 the bank had only 8 branches in Akola district. After the liberalization policy of the government in 1991, the bank opened 21 branches and one extension counter across the state of Maharashtra. The Bank was accorded Scheduled Status by RBI on 22/05/1999. Bank after getting scheduled status decided to expand its area of ​​operation outside Maharashtra and approached Central Registrar, New Delhi for multi-state status and the bank was given multi-state status on 31/08/2000 .

 The bank is making steady progress. The bank started with a small capital of Rs 1.13 lakh which is now Rs 51.26 crore. The bank is the largest in the region of Vidarbha, Marathwada and Khandesh in terms of business size. The bank has declared profits continuously for the last 25 years. The slogan of the bank is “Sahakaren Jankalyanam” account for which the bank is providing assistance to different sections of the society in financial and non-financial manner. In 2003 the bank shifted its head office to a newly constructed four-storey building, which was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Narendra Modi and the then Sarsanghchalak of RSS, Late Shri K.K. Sudarshanji did it.
